Flashback Friday - A look at Papa's phone

Pulling out old pictures of "the wibber" made me nostalgic to browse some old photos.  I then wondered to myself "what was happening exactly two years ago today" and found a picture from exactly two years ago today (disclosure: I started working on this post on 4/4).  Here it is:

I remember taking this picture because while I was packing I kept hearing her say "cheeeeeeeeeese" and then realized she was taking "selfies" with her toy phone.  I was partially mortified and partially intrigued as to where she picked up that habit.  She wasn't quite 2 years old yet.

Of course, this search led to me looking through more old photos and then looking through the photos from Papa's phone.  His photos offer a different perspective.  Some of his photos have actually been downloaded onto his phone, not actually taken by him. He puts on ones that are important to him that he wants to look at while he is away from home.  Many he has actually taken and offer a glimpse into HIS life that I can't necessarily give. So below is a glimpse into Papa's old pictures.  I've labeled the dates to give it context and some have descriptions.  Essentially this is a version of "A Day in the Life of Papa"  - but more like "A Glimpse into what Papa cares about".

Enjoy.

JULY 2013

 With his siblings in DC.
Our camping trip after he got home.

 Some of our neighbors.

 His niece and Dad.
This is how every Friday night was spent during that semester.  He had to do video physical assessments.  We would end up doing them 'till 1-2 am, getting it just right.

Apparently I didn't always make it without a nap.

That was when he dropped us off at the airport for our trip to DC.

Apparently that is what happens when he cooks for himself. ;-)

He sent us this - apparently someone missed Little Lady.

Apparently he reminisced about our little helper while we were gone.

He sent me pictures of a clean house without children in it.
What COULD be....

 Post Nutcracker dinner date.
Hiking with my sister.

That takes us to the end of 2013.  He hasn't actually had time to even load his photos on the computer since then.  So, there you go, a glimpse into Papa's perspective.

And I think we've figured out where Little Lady learned about "selfies"!

  1. {Wondering if the asymmetrical pupil thingie comes with a migraine? Oddly enough, both Ron and Craig get visual migraines, usually no headache but visual effects ranging from blobs or spots in their visual field to full out blindness (Ronny). }
Love all the pics and the peek into Chris' heart.

    1. DINGDINGDING - I was wondering if anyone was going to even ask about that. We did several doc appointments looking into it and kept journals to try to see if anything seemed to correspond with it and the final "I think it is" diagnosis was migraines. It happens sporadically and she seems to have heightened sensitivity to everything when it does happen - and it switches eyes. Migraines run in Papa's family too - he had them as a child. Cleaning up her diet has also seemed to help. It doesn't happen nearly as often anymore, but seems to pop up if she is getting sick - compromised immune system. On another note - there was only one Pediatric Neuro Opthamologist in all of Idaho, conveniently located in Boise. That is who we went to and when she gave her final diagnosis she also told us she was leaving Idaho. So - there is now none in the entire state of Idaho. We contemplated getting a second opinion when we went out to Maryland, but we are content with the diagnosis for now.
