Ketchup

I'm going to try to catch up to present day and fill you all in with any notable things that have been going on.

This summer our garden runeth over.

It actually really took up a lot of my time.

We had tomatoes, cucumbers, cauliflower, cantaloupe, peppers, and squash.

Butternut squash, acorn squash and the ever plentiful zucchini.

Which of course led me on a journey to discover how many ways I could possibly prepare zucchini.

Zoodles became my favorite meal.  Perfect pasta replacement.

This guy dug them - Little Lady did not.

I've been keeping busy with working on preschool type stuff with this Little Lady.
She can now identify all of her letters.  We are working on identifying them by the sounds now.

We also try to get visits to the library in but our schedule has changed up lately so it is a bit harder.  They have neat stuff there for the kids to use as well.

We are working on sequencing and stuff like that.

She really enjoys all the activities and I am very thankful for the internet for the ideas!  Since we are doing preschool at home I want to make sure she is still getting exposure to this stuff.

I've started working on number recognition with her.  She can count up to 29, but seems to omit 13, 15, 23 and 24.  I just set up our Advent Calendar so that will be a great opportunity to work with her numbers more.

She has also started gymnastics.

I wasn't sure if we were going to continue them, but we switched classes and it is going much better!

She has gotten so much stronger and confident.

She is also a big fan of puzzles.

She likes to do one before bedtime.

She also seems to be a big fan of the sciences.  We also have a book about animals she picked up at Costco that she loves.

She has eight page markers and each day she picks eight pages for us to read to her at night (they are pretty detailed).  She gets seriously excited about that stuff.

We've been keeping busy with our church play group too.  I'm in charge of it now.
We do monthly field trips.  One was to the zoo.  She finally got to feed the goats.

Our little Venus.

We've also been exploring her interest in dance stuff with videos from the library.

She has had her first CrossFit class - well, she played around while I worked out.

She even worked on her box jumps.

And...

Surprise!

We did her first haircut!  Just trimmed off the long stuff and evened it out a bit.

This Little Man is advancing every day.  Aside from climbing on tables and practicing his Ninja skills, he is proficient with spoons and forks.

He also likes to be read to now.  He brings you a book and will plop in your lap for you to read it to him.

#1 Son!

I also just signed him up for gymnastics too.  He is always struggling to get onto the floor during Little Ladies classes and there is a parent/child class at the same time.  I figured I was baby wrangling anyways, so I'd see how he did in a class.

He did surprisingly well.  Imagine that....Ninja Baby is a natural.

He is one cool kid.

Oooooh - almost forgot!  Today he has called me "MumMum" several times!!  He is also saying Dog, Cat, Quack (for what a duck says), DaDa, Drink.  He also likes to roar.  A lot.  There is mucho roaring going on here.

We also had our second Halloween here.

After changing her mind several times, she saw "princess" dresses at Costco and wanted one.  She actually wanted Ariel, but it looked horrible so we were able to convince her to be Snow White.  It was a ridiculously short dress, so I added more material and made it a gown.

This guy wore his sister's costume from a couple years ago.  Meow!

I went as my favorite, Rosie the Riveter.

We went to an early evening Halloween party.

Great friends and such cool food!

So stinking cute.

We went out and did some Trick or Treating with our friends.  She had a BLAST.

He wanted to get in on the action and would run up to the houses with all the kids.

Papa got out of work a bit early and was actually able to join us for some more trick or treating later that evening.  It was a special treat.

We got our first dusting of snow,

followed by more substantial stuff.

She has gotten warmed up and is ready for some more!

Papa has been crazy busy with his school stuff.  I've been watching a friends children three days a week since October.  So - we're pretty slammed.  He is wrapping up his classes for the semester and we're looking forward to a couple weeks of good quality family time.

We did have the opportunity to go to a wedding and enjoy a little Mama-Papa time, a preview of being able to spend time together.

Have I mentioned my favorite song right now?

No idea what I'm talking about?

You're welcome.

Next I'll update you on our holiday fun.

Hope all is well!
