Our first Boise Halloween

So this was our first Halloween in Boise and my first one as a stay at home Mama!  Chris' schedule is so busy that we didn't do a family trip to the pumpkin patch, but it worked out perfectly because our church playgroup did a trip to Linder Farms!

How nice is it to see the mountains in the distance like that?!

Here was Little Lady in her borrowed coat.  I had a serious Mommy fail on this trip.  It was already a cold day and I didn't think about how windy it would be when we got to the flat, wide open farm.  It was freeeeeeeezing.  This was before (and the reason) we made sure the truck has gloves, hats, boots and a coat for her at all times.  Thankfully a friend had extra gloves for her to borrow and another one had an extra coat.  She has a fleece coat underneath, but it was not enough.

On the tractor ride out to the pumpkin patch.

She was very excited to find a pumpkin!

She would keep trading her pumpkin out for a larger one.  There was pretty much only mini pumpkins left.  Oh well, less for me to have to carry while already carrying a baby!

A picture with some of her playgroup friends!

She LOOOOOOOOOOVED doing this maze with her friend!

Papa didn't get to do pretty much any of our Halloween activities with us, but he made sure he fit in some fun time with Little Lady.

The kids were encouraged to dress up for the weekly story time at the library.  Hey, more use out of the costume!  Works for me!

A sample of what they do each week - just in costumes this time!

Papa had a little time to paint the pumpkin with Little Lady the day before Halloween.  He did one side, she did the other.

He was veeeeeeeeeeery intent on it.

On Halloween, these two got dressed up in their Halloween shirts that Grandma Gig sent them.

Big Sister and Baby Brother!

Couldn't resist another picture.  Yes, he looks very concerned - one of his many faces.

That evening it was time to get dressed up!  She strikes the weirdest poses......probably partly because she won't stand still so I have to say "freeze!" to get her to stop moving - so she'll strike a pose mid-wiggle.

She was Dorothy from the Wizard of Oz!  I got the costume two years ago at Target, on clearance, after Halloween.  It was meant to be a dress up item for day care, but it fit her perfectly this year and she said she looked "like a princess, like Thumbelina."  Done.

She got these shoes from Santa last year - worked perfectly!

The group pictures didn't go as well in the evening as they did in the morning.....

Heading out to go trick or treating!  Pirate Pooh bag courtesy of Grandma Gigi!

Candy!!!!!!!

She was getting into it!  Ringing doorbells herself!

After each house she would say "I wanna do again."
This house gave out full size Snickers bars.  Yes, FULL size.

Checking out her loot!

He finally cheered up too! :-)  AND he slept for a five hour stretch that night!  Wohoo!
Happy Halloween to me!

Here is a little video to wrap this post up with. Enjoy!
